I finally got my controller and plugged it's USB to my PC and Mixxx recognized it no hassle only after enabling it under `Preference -> Controllers (*choose appropriate one*)` ofcourse. Now, I was thankful it was that easy I mean no drivers needed to be installed because i'm using Windows 10. Now the problem came when trying to configure the *Audio-Outputs*. I can't set Headphones-Out to the controller itself, i'll end up recieving an error, like so..
As far as my controller being an Audio-Output, the device name is `Line (2-DDJ-SB2)`. I'm NOT on `ASIO` Sound API, instead i'm on the default `Windows DirectSound` trying to choose this `Line (2-DDJ_SB2)` when recieving the error.
# MY SETUP
* Hardware
+ DJ Controller
- Entry level `Pioneer DDJ-SB2`
+ Speakers
- Basic `Boston Desktop 2.1 speakers` connected to PC via auxiliary-port
* Software
+ OS
- `Windows 10 x64 (home)`
+ Mixing
- `Mixxx v2.0.0`
- Sound API `Windows DirectSound`
# PROBLEM
* In Mixxx, i'm receiving an error when trying to set my Headphones-Output to my controller's device name.
+ My controller's device name is `Line (2-DDJ-SB2)` and i'm setting it under the Sound API `Windows DirectSound`
# SOLUTION
* Are your speakers just regular / typical PC Speakers? Is your DJ Controller plugged to your PC? If you answered yes to both then follow these steps (
otherwise it should be the same if you're using an external soundcard and NOT your PC's auxiliary port for your speakers)
+ Set Sound API = MME
+ Set MASTER = (usual speakers, you should see the driver name like Realtek or something like it) -> Channels 1 - 2
+ Set HEADPHONES = Line (DDJ-SB2) -> Channels 3 - 4
ENJOY!!
## NOTE
* Do you have your DJ Controller's `Master-Out` hooked to your speakers?
+ Nope, I have just the USB cord connected to my PC for power
- my audio is coming from my desktop speakers that is connected to my PC's backplate using an auxiliary jack.
* How come you're not using `ASIO` Audio-Output?
+ Because I want to output 'Master' to my desktop speakers AND 'Headphones' to my controller, there isn't a way to output the *Master to Speaker* when setting *Sound API to ASIO*
- so now it's just left at the default `Windows DirectSound` w/ master being my desktop speaker's `Realtek` driver that's plugged to my PC via auxiliary
+ Also, based from my experience using the ASIO-Output is that you can't have any other sound be playing, because it's exclusive to the player using it first
- in order to fix that you have to terminate the player so you can break free from the ASIO-playback which to me is annoying
- annoying vs. audio quality/speed?
* Have you tried changing to various other `Sound API's`?
+ Yes, from ASIO being the most different to all the way through `WASAPI` I still receive the error
